Fons Scabore
Fons Scabore, the spring of the Chaboras, marks the source of the river now called the Khabur, which the historian Ammianus calls the Abora. Several roads meet here on the map: from Charra, from Tigubis sixteen Roman miles away, and on to Birrali, forty-four miles or about sixty-five kilometres off. The spring is placed at Ras el Ain, and the station is either the same place as Ressaina or lies very close to it. A road to Alaina also branched off here.
