Fociana

(bei Riabat) (Miller)

Fociana may be a slip for Tociana, which would match a place called Taukiana in the geographer Ptolemy; it lay in the district of Astabene. One suggestion puts it near Riabat, at Candehabaz, where the headwaters of the Gurgan river come together. The map sets it twenty Roman miles, about thirty kilometres, beyond Catippa, and ten miles before Stai.
