Flumen nomen nescio, Latin for 'a river whose name I do not know', is the label scholars give this watercourse, because the copyist drew it without any name. Its line runs through the part of the map devoted to Egypt, the Nile and Ethiopia. With no name and no modern match, it survives purely as a drawn river winding across the parchment.
