Flumen nomen nescio, the scholars' label for a river whose name the map leaves unwritten, runs through the lands east of the Sea of Azov and north of the Taurus mountains. It is simply a line of water without a name beside it, and the map gives no hint of which way it flows. It lies in a region where some ancient and medieval writers imagined the Sea of Azov opening into the northern Ocean.
