Ad stabulum olearium
(between Sitifis and Sigus) (Barrington)
Ad Stabulum Olearium means 'at the oil stable': a stabulum was a roadside lodging with stalls for the animals, and this one took its name from oil. It lay on a road in Numidia between Sitifis and Sigus, in what is now Algeria, though its exact site is unknown. The map gives no figure for the stretch from Ad Portum, and from here it is just five Roman miles on to Baccarus, a stretch whose start the copyist never marked.
