At Bordj-Sebbalat in Tunisia lay Ad Aquas, 'at the waters', nine Roman miles from Ad Mercurium and twenty-one from Maxula. Older research took it for the spa of Korbous on Cape Bon, whose hot sulphur springs were so hard to reach, along a narrow path cut into the cliffs above the sea, that most patients came by boat.
