Linie is an island drawn in the sea of the eastern Mediterranean, identified with Symi in Greece. Its outline copies the neighbouring island's shape, only smaller. The lettering above it has faded badly, and today just a few scattered letters can be made out. The full name survives because early printed editions of the map, in 1598 and 1753, still recorded it.
