Island

Thas

Listen to the story

Thas, a small oval island on the Tabula, is almost certainly Thasos, the Greek island in the Aegean that the historian Herodotus already knew by that name. Its name stands to the right of the outline, but it has faded badly: only the final letters, as, can still be made out, and older copies read the whole word as Thas. Those copies also set further islands beside it, but only the faintest traces of lettering survive there, so how far to trust them can no longer be judged.
