Island

Zephice

Listen to the story

Zephice is an island that has all but vanished from the map. Only the final letter of its name can still be made out, and the drawing of the island itself is gone; older copies preserve the full name. The Roman writers Pliny and Pomponius Mela knew an island of almost the same name off the northeastern tip of Crete, but which island it was can no longer be determined.
