Isumbo lies in the far east of the map, beyond the Euphrates, and is identified with Patnos in eastern Turkey. It is often taken to be the same place as Patansana, which the map shows under its own name nearby, so the copyist may have drawn one town twice. The road from here is troubled too: the map counts a hundred and thirty-one Roman miles to Raugonia, a figure that fits no possible placing of the two towns. A list of places compiled in Ravenna names Isumbo twice, once in Parthia and again in Media.
