Epirus Nova means 'New Epirus', the late Roman province split off from the older Epirus along the Adriatic coast, in what is now largely Albania, with Dyrrachium, today's Durrës, as its chief city. The map writes the name in an odd form, with a stray letter I in front and a grammatical ending as if it came from a sentence or list.
