The river Ausere springs from this nameless range in Africa, near the coastal towns of Gigthis and Sabratha. Older research equated the mountains, without giving a reason, with the Gilion of the geographer Ptolemy, and the choice has something for it: in Ptolemy it is the only mountain anywhere near these towns.
