River

Fluvius Nigella

Tidone

Listen to the story

A river drawn running down from a nameless mountain into the Po, Fluvius Nigella is today's Tidone in northern Italy. It joins the great river from the right bank, flowing between Piacenza and the old Ligurian border, close to the Trebia. Curiously, a list of places compiled in Ravenna already calls it Tidone, the very name the river still bears, while the map gives it a different one.
