Bithynia
Listen to the story
Bithynia was a region of Asia Minor on the shores of the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea, in modern Turkey. Once a kingdom, it passed to Rome in 74 BC by the will of its last king and became a Roman province, which the writer Pliny the Younger later governed. Its name stayed in use from classical times into late antiquity.
