Road station

unnamed / illegible, no. 62

An unnamed station sits here on the road: the bend that marks a stop is drawn, but no legible name stands beside it. Two fillings have been proposed. One is Castabala, also called Hieropolis, on the river Pyramus about fifteen miles from Anazarbus, which the map seems to have entered by mistake somewhere else as Castabola. The other, following the Ravenna list, which drew on the same source, is a mountain station in the Amanus range. The figure twenty-seven beside the gap probably counts the miles to Anazarbus.
