Port

Ad Portum

Zebacha

Listen to the story

Just a name with no picture marks Ad Portum on the road through Numidia, and even the road is puzzling here, because the map draws two routes leaving it, the northern one without any distance, so one of them must be a mistake. The name means “at the harbour”. The place is identified, though not with certainty, with Zebacha. Thirty-five Roman miles separate it from the colony of Sitifis, and the next station is Ad Stabulum Olearium.
