Mountain

(mountain, no. 32) [Κίρνα (Κίννα) ὄρος

Listen to the story

Above this nameless range near Hippo Diarrhytus, now Bizerte in Tunisia, the map writes the name of a river, the Chulchul, but draws no river at all. The mountains are probably the Kirna of the geographer Ptolemy, which feeds two linked lakes, the lake of Sissara and the lake of Hippo; the map leaves them out as well, probably for lack of room.
