Close to the Danube, between Transmarisca, now Tutrakan, and the station of Nigrinianae, the map draws a short unlabelled range, a second piece of the Balkan mountains. Nicopolis ad Istrum and the road south towards Beroe, now Stara Zagora, lie below it.
